Holding Hands

When the kids ride in the car, they tend to fall asleep as most babies do. But our babies always hold hands before they drift off into "Lala" land (Lala is Peter's nickname....shhhh! lol!). Peter took a quick photo on the cellphone, the quality isn't very good and the light is beaming out the kids hands. If you look closely, they're holding hands. We figured it was their way of comfort on a long car ride, haha! Looks like Daddy woke up Tea too soon, look at her face! LOL!
It's moments like these that remind you of how precious your children really are to you.
(sigh)

BYU's: "The Children of Eden"

I went to BYU's musical production of  "The Children of Eden" at the Pardoe Theatre this weekend.  It was magical and so powerful!

Stephen Schwartz was the lyricist and composer of this production and has also done work on the famous broadway show Wicked and also on very familiar Disney Movies such as Pocahontas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame and one of our favorites "Enchanted".

This awesome production was about the beginning of Adam, Eve and Noah.  It was so symbolic, spiritual and entertaining with constant singing and comedy.  I got a bit teary eyed on some parts because THAT'S how powerful it was and I'm pretty sure it was the spirit.  It got me thinking about the Bible and the timeless stories and lessons that it holds and also how we often take for granted the importance of reading it.  It also motivated me to read the Bible because the production had so many interesting points and ideas that bring to front what really did happen in the time of Adam and Eve.  The actor and actress who played Adam and Eve were beyond great in their performance.  Their singing voices were strong, they captured each emotion and they were very animated.  You know that when you get teary eyed in these special performances that the actors did their job in connecting with audience.  This performance was one of the best productions I have ever seen in my life!  Woohoo!

Temple Recommends....HAHA!

...My Mom forwarded this to me through email and it is so FUNNY!...

WARNING- Never leave your house without your temple recommend!

The Mormons Meet the Metro Narcotics Unit
By Daryl Zadok Budd
From Clearfield, Utah

The Elders Quorum President and I were visiting some lost souls, when
they were found by the long arm of the law.

As we were preparing to say the closing prayer at the conclusion of our visit we heard someone
pounding on the door and yelling, 'it's the police! Open the door!'

I thought, 'Oh, that old joke.'
Then there was more pounding, 'it's the police! We have a search warrant!'

Before this lady's boyfriend made it to the door to open it the police opened the door for him. Into the house
stormed ten police officers dressed from head to toe in black body armor.

Each gentleman had a submachine gun. When I saw the door burst open, read the
word POLICE across the first officers Kevlar vest and saw the large gun that he
had I thought, 'This is going to make a great story.'

The Officer only got to 'Get on the...' and I was face down on the
carpet with my hands above my head in full view.

'Get down on the ground!' The friendly officer again shouted at the President. The only
trouble the President had was that the room was very small and had a coffee table in the center of it.

There was no available space remaining on the floor, as the rest of us had already 'hit the deck.'

There was no room left in the Inn, if you know what I mean.

The Elders Quorum President therefore made the mistake of Standing up from where he
was sitting on the couch and trying to explain who we were.

The kind officers did not seem to like this action and one very large officer
stepped toward the President who then found himself looking directly
into the muzzle of the gun with a bright light shining in his eyes.

As the officer placed his finger over the trigger and shouted, 'I said get
on the ground!!' The president decided to do so.

As there was nowhere else to go, he laid on top of me, his first councilor. I never thought
I would need to 'support the President' like that I assure you. I really felt the 'weight of my calling.'

We were instructed not to move or speak which was difficult to say the
least as I had eaten a little too much for supper and the President is not exactly a small man even before dinner.

After a time the President whispered, 'Are you O.K. down there?' I didn't dare answer. But a few seconds later the
humor of the whole situation hit me full force and I started laughing, silently mind you, which made my body shake and the President being on
top of me was well aware that I was laughing and thought, 'What in the world could he possibly be laughing at?'

After they got done handcuffing the two closest to us they were ready for us. 'Stand up and
keep your hands above your head!' We arose and the officers searched us for weapons.

The heroic officers did a much more extensive search of
the Presidents person due to his earlier, 'Non-compliance'

'Who are you?!' asked the large officer who had gently persuaded the
President to get down on the floor
.

'We are the Elders Quorum
Presidency from a local Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints.' Replied the President in one breath.

The officers looked at each other and their weapons lowered a little bit. 'Do you have any
church I.D.?' One officer asked.

They gave us back our wallets and we showed them our Temple Recommends and Drivers licenses.

Big smiles came onto their faces and they soon escorted us out to our car, wished us a
good night and allowed us to drive away with a great story to tell.

I knew that my Temple Recommend could help me get into the Lord's house
but I never dreamed it could help me avoid going to the 'Big house.'

This time the lost sheep that we were hoping to bring back to the fold
sadly ended up going to a different pen.

I hope that you have a wonderful day!

Sincerely,
Daryl Zadok Budd

I LOVE ME SOME "GLEE"!!

Need some kind of "pick-me-up, goosebumpy, get you smiling, get you laughing" kind of show?
Our suggestion:  GLEE!

This show is definitely a must see new T.V. show.  It has so much "spaz" in it with so many young talented actors.
For all y'all who already know what I'm talking about because your TV is on FOX every Wednesday at 8/7c, well, HIGH FIVE!
For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, well.....
It's about a bunch of so-called nerdy/geeky outcasts who enjoy performing and all join the Glee Club in high school.  From there, you can see the realistic situations  of getting "bullied" and "picked on" by the so-called "popular" group yet they manage to find confidence in themselves through song.  It's got alot of comedy going on, romantic triangles, some drama and lots of musical.  They are always singing modern day songs and it's pretty entertaining.
Watch this show because it's so fun to watch, our kids love to hear the musical numbers and watch the cool dancing too.
YAH  for GLEE!!

Prince Charming

A REAL CONVERSATION BETWEEN TEA AND HER MOMMY

(Mommy is cooking dinner and Tea walks into the kitchen.  Tea stands by Mommy for a while and watches her cook.)

Tea:  Mommy, are you going to marry Prince Charming?

Mommy:  Tea, Mommy already married Prince Charming.

Tea:  Oh, Daddy's Mommy's Prince Charming?

Mommy:  Yeap.

Tea:  Ok, thanks.

(Haha!)

She's really into the whole fairy tale/princess scene.  Now she knows that "Prince Charmings" are real because she has one for a Daddy.

Home Movies and Old Photos = F.H.E

A great family home evening idea to do is to gather on a comfy couch around your computer or television with the family, have some mochi crunch and popcorn at hand and a huge blanket wrapped around everyone, then play old home movies and video clips on the T.V or computer.
After the home videos, bust out the photo albums or pop in the external hard drives or jump drives and show a mini slideshow of photos from back in the days.
We have fun doing this for family home evening at least once or twice every six months to a year.  It's great to see how much the kids have grown and how much mommy and daddy have grown too, haha!
Here are some photos we found on one of our many jump drives that was in storage.

We've got thousands and thousands of photos and video clips that came out to be a fun family home evening.
Title it:
"Hanna-Badda Dayz"
Cheers!

Trick or Treat!

TRICK OR TREAT!
It was a cold Saturday evening as we went trick or treating through the neighborhood. Tea and Pika couldn't wait to knock on doors and get their pumpkin containers filled with candy.  Halloween here is a lot more mellow than good old Laie.  No one sits outside to give their candy out (because it's pretty cold) and the streets are pretty empty (because it's cold).  We walked the streets for a good hour and a half until we all had frozen fingers and cheeks then made our way back to our apartment.  It was tons of fun and our kiddies were beaming with pride because of how many candies were loaded up in their pumpkins.
Peter made homemade SWAT vests for him and Braddah using life jackets and spray painted them black.  Then we printed off the words SWAT and HANOHANO from our computer, cut the letters out with a blade and then spray painted the words in white.  They looked cute, both Agent Hanohano and Agent Hanohano :)

Tea and Mommy were scary ghosts.  We bought a pretty ugly dress from D.I  for Tea and for  Mommy, then we painted our faces with white make up and put gray/black make up around our eyes and mouth.  We loved being a scary Mommy and a scary Little Girl.  Tea called herself "A Scary Princess" :)

Halloween is so much fun.  We always dress up every Halloween and it's one of the many holidays we look forward to every year!

Stay tuned for next year to see what the Hanohano's will be for Halloween 2010 :)
BOO!
